Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary

The Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary (PCGA) is a voluntary uniformed non-government organization, formed with a military structure and attached to the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) under the Department of Transportation and Communication.

The Coast Guard Auxiliary assists the PCG in the enforcement of maritime laws, sea safety, search and rescue, marine environment protection and preservation, youth development and humanitarian service.

The PCG has 5 Operating Commands and 64 Districts. The MIMAROPA Command covers the Provinces of Mindoro, Marinduque and Palawan and is based in Puerto Princessa, Palawan. The Coast Guard District of Mindoro Or. is part of this Command and is based in Calapan. The PCGA 505th Squadron is based in Sabang, Puerto Galera and covers the Province of Mindoro Oriental which falls under the Coast Guard District Auxiliary of Southern Tagalog based in Batangas.
